Dear Ms Miriam,

I wanted to let you know how much we have enjoyed the last 5(!!) years coming to Heartland Music Together Classes.  The camaraderie, dancing and singing are something we looked forward to every week.  The kids loved singing along to the songs in the car at home in Louisville and on vacations as well.  Over the years, they will even request a song, then tell me the song number and collection as I am looking for the CD!

The most important thing you taught me as a parent is how to recognize and appreciate my children's different ways of participating and showing their love of music.  My oldest (Halle) participates, but is overall one to sit in class and "take it in".  She has always loved it when I sing to her and singing has been the way I have most easily calmed her since she was a newborn.  My youngest (Burke) is more of a performer.  He likes to walk around the house with maracas, dancing and singing his own songs.  While he will let me sing to him some, he really likes to sing to us more!!  My recognition of this has helped me respect their individuality.

We will truly miss seeing you and Ms. Karen every week.  If we ever see a Music Together® booth, we will stop by to say "hi"!!

"There's no such thing as a wrong note as long as you're singing."

"I know you see this in Logan, but he just absolutely loves music. I sincerely believe Music Together has been the single most meaningful and important activity he has participated in over the last 18 months. When he sat on Santa's lap, he told him he wanted a cello, or a guitar for Christmas this year! Let me tell you that finding a cello for a 2 year old is no easy task!

Thank you for all you do to foster the love of music in our children- we appreciate it so much!

"Moses has been singing the pony song ALL the time. He loves it. He sings, "...all tired downnnnn, all tired downnn." and sinks to the floor. Jacob has to let him know that it's actually all tired *out*. It's awesome!

I also want to thank you for introducing our family to music in this way. It has given me the courage to sing to my children without judgement. You have no idea what a wonderful gift that is (well...maybe you do.)"

Thanks for being awesome! I asked Ava the other day if we ever had another baby what she would name it… Her response… “Ms Karen!”

"Erin wants to listen to "her music" ALL the time! She does the finger movements to "Jack in the Box" and asks for specific songs. She never said "Hello" before, but the other day she said that as a request to hear "Hello Everybody." She also sings the tonal patterns (with her own little twist, of course!) and I catch her singing to herself on a regular basis. She had not done either of those things until this last week. I am sure that it is partially just due to the fact that she is getting older, but just the few times we have been to Music Together have also been monumental for her! She is loving every minute of it and branching out so much because we have been attending. We love it!"

“I have said it many, many times and will continue to tell you how much we thrive around our Music Together times. We are always in the moment at Music Together. It is integral to our life as a family and has contributed more to our children's lives than can be measured. Thank you.”

"Thank you - it's been a wonderful experience both for me and my granddaughter. It's a special time of the week for me."

"I just wanted to let you know how much we thoroughly enjoyed class this past semester.  As a former Developmental Interventionist, I know what the research says about music and its benefits for learning and development.  As a new mom I was able to see the positive effects the class had on Cate socially and developmentally.  Thank you for helping me provide such a fun way for my daughter to grow and learn.  I treasure the memories we made in the class and wish you all the best!"
Kelly Brown

"We don't consider ourselves musicians.  We are only human beings trying to realize the humanity inside of us with music."

Franck Pillonetto, Les Phones

"I enjoy the rhythm of the class - a great mix of slow and fast tempos, and sitting and standing/dancing. I truly like the openness of class that allows each child to express himself and participate in various ways and at various levels.

We have so enjoyed your magic! Thank you for presenting this!"

Avi's mom

"We love the class! I've always been shy about participating in groups or singing out loud anywhere since I became an adult. I grew up playing piano and singing in church choir, so it's been nice to come back to music in such a warm environment. I've definitely gained as much as my daughter from your classes - thanks!"

"You are the music while the music lasts."

"As I was reflecting on the fact that our family is now just one semester shy of having experienced all nine of the Music Together collections, something occured to me.  For me, one of the greatest gifts of Music Together has been learning so many new (to me) traditional children's or folk songs from other countries and cultures, especially the lullabies.  I've absolutely loved expanding my repetoire of songs to sing to/with my children, and the fact that the girls are absorbing and learning these same songs.  It almost makes me cry to think that the "new songs" are about to come to an end for us."

Bailey and Audrey's mom

"Ben has grown so much with music - he sings and plays music all day long! It has given him a new way to express himself. He has asked for music as gifts!"

"If I cannot fly, let me sing... "

"My child repeats classroom activities at home all the time! She even role plays the class with her dolls. I can't wait to see what you come up with next!"

"We're fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance."

"You are an excellent teacher. You put so much of yourself and your enthusiasm into it. You've helped me learn about Norah musically, and you've provided me with great ways I can implement more music into our lives."

"All music is folk music. I ain't never heard a horse sing a song."

"You do a fantastic job! You keep the flow going from one activity to another, and the myriad of different activities holds the interest of a dozen kids for three-quarters of an hour.

We love this class! We have a great time learning, getting exercise, interacting, singing, dancing, smiling, laughing, and making music! We look forward to it every week!!"

"I just wanted to let you know how much Wyatt, Brody and I enjoyed our first Music Together class yesterday!  Wyatt sang the songs all the way home and we have already listened to the CD at least 4 times.  Today we made our own instruments at home and "jammed" out to the songs.  What a treat it will be to attend our class every Monday!   Ms. Karen is wonderful!  Thank you for offering this amazing program to families- I am so happy we are taking advantage of this opportunity!"
