Note: Our Big Kids class will be resting for this summer. Instead we're offering a more informal "Bigs and Littles" class, with elements of both the Big Kids class and our mixed-age classes. This will be a great class experience for families with both older and younger siblings!
Your 5-, 6-, or 7-year-old is older and more sophisticated than the children in our mixed-age classes. Children this age are typically capable of basic music skills of keeping a beat, or singing with accurate pitches - and they also love a challenge. Now the fun can really begin!
Our Music Together® Big Kids classes are designed to challenge your child with the next level of basic music literacy, while retaining the fun and excitement of our mixed-age classes. Children will have an opportunity to practice conducting and improvisation, create story songs and "silly operas", and enjoy game songs with their peers. Developmentally appropriate musical challenges include solfege ("sight-singing"), instrumental solos and ensembles, choreography, harmony, vocal development, and drumming skills. In addition to the music skills learned in class, our Big Kids classes give children an opportunity to practice leadership skills, build confidence, and share an exciting activity with peers.
Unlike our mixed-age classes, adult participation is optional in this class. We ask that adults participate in the first and last class of the session. You may also enjoy joining in for the last 10 minutes of every class.

Classes are 60 minutes long and meet weekly for a 10-week session.
Big Kids Class tuition is $155 for a 10-week session. Sibling tuition is just $100. (Siblings can get the sibling rate even if they're enrolled in a different class.)
Tuition includes a Music Together Big Kids songbook with activities specially created for 5-7 year-olds, associated CDs, weekly HomePlay activity pages, and Tonal Solfege cards.
Because this curriculum is designed for children 5-7 years old, younger children are not permitted to enroll in this class. Younger siblings are welcome to join in for the last 10 minutes of each class.
Children don't have to be "graduates" of our mixed-age classes to enjoy this class. This class is open to all 5-7 year-olds, regardless of their previous musical experience.
